Situation on the border between Thailand and Cambodia continues to escalate

23. July 2025

On July 23, the Thai government expelled the Cambodian ambassador from the country and recalled its own ambassador from Cambodia. The recall of embassy staff often indicates that a conflict or “violent action” is about to intensify. This followed numerous accusations that Cambodia had planted landmines in Thailand. From a neutral perspective, however, it does …

Siem Reap

Siem Reap

is the city around the temples of Angkor Wat in Cambodia – the Kingdom of Wonders.

Already the archaeological park covers 163 hectares and houses the remains of the Khmer Empire from the 9th to the 15th century. Angkor has been classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1992.

Around Siem Reap, there are also many other temples to discover such as Beng Mealea, Koh Ker or Preah Vihear.

More current attractions such as the temple complexes on Phnom Kulen Mountain, Tonle Sap Lake or the fishing village of Kampong Phlouk also offer many opportunities for discovery. In the heart of Siem Reap you can also visit many museums, smaller and larger pagodas (temples) such as Wat Bo and Wat Damnak.

After a successful day, a visit to Pub Street or one of the many restaurants in Siem Reap is a good idea.
